Macquarie Radio Network hits back at Mercedes-Benz

Times are tough and every opportunity a company gets to get free publicity they all jump in. There is a new drama playing in the fallout from the Prime Minister and Alan Jones Shame gate scandal. Macquarie radio network makes about 2 million a month from the highly rates Alan Jones Show which airs in Sydney on weekdays.

Couple of days back Mercedes Benz had  supposedly withdrawn support from ALAN JONES show and had asked Alan Jones to return the $250,000 dollar car back. Today Macquarie Radio Network’s has come out and launched a direct attack on Mercedes Benz and accused it of trying to garner cheap publicity from the whole Shame Gate Scandal. In its statement released today Macquarie Radio boss has stated that Mercedes Benz had already cancelled its advertising on the Alan Jones show way back on 19th September 2012 and for Merc-Benz executives to come out in the open and ask Alan Jones to return the car  was uncalled for and not in good taste. The car was loaned to the radio network and the radio network had chosen to give the car to Alan Jones. Alan Jones on today’s morning show which aired without any advertisement stated.. ” They can have the Damn car Back”.

The shame gate scandal is showing no signs of stopping and Macquarie Radio Network is losing about $80,000 dollars a day on account of this. Lets see how many days Macquarie Radio Network can air the Alan Jones show without any advertising.
